10 Reasons I LOVE Coffee

Hello friends and welcome to Topical Thursday here at the OCM. Today for a topic I am joining in to Mama Kat’s Weekly Writers Workshop. I chose challenge #3 which stated  “3.) A list of 10 reasons you or do not drink coffee.”. I mean how could I pick anything else? This challenge has my name written all over it!! So here we go with my 10 reasons for partaking in this wonderful beverage.

10 – It’s Good.

9 – It  helps me to wake up, or stay awake depending on the time of day.

8 – It’s better for me than soda (or so I keep telling myself)

7 – It makes me a nicer person.

6 – The smell of it freshly brewed reminds me of my Mom.

5 – Have I mentioned that it’s good?

4 – I always wanted to be Juan Valdez when I grow up, so I figure coffee drinking is the best way to prepare for this future life path.

3 – It’s less pretentious than a champagne cocktail at 6am

2 – It is really, very very good.

and the Number One reason that I drink coffee is……..

1 – It keeps me out of prison, as without my jolts of caffeine I am very likely to commit a felony at some point during the day.

Well that wraps it up for me for today. Thanks as always for stopping by, and hopefully I’ll see you again tomorrow!

RANT!! – Hospital Waiting Rooms

Hello friends and welcome to day 35 of the 365 Days of Blog marathon. I know it’s Wednesday and according to my self imposed schedule that equals wacky and weird, however given the day I just had it’s all about letting off steam today. I’m not just mildly annoyed with my local ER, I’m not slightly annoyed, I’m pissed to the point I want to smack someone. Being a hospital “frequent flyer” (for reasons see my post on my son Jamie here ) I’m normally pretty tolerant of the ebb and flow of the ER so it take quite a bit to get me to this point.

Day 31 – Three Questions with….

Hello friends and welcome to Day 31 of the 365 Days of Blog marathon. It’s the start of a brand new month and spring is in full swing. A few weeks ago I had this crazy idea. What if I tried to get in touch with celebrities, ask them 3 completely random off the wall questions and then post the answers. Ya right, I thought. Like a celebrity is going to actually answer an anonymous little blogger. My husband told me to go for it anyway, so I did. Guess what? Somebody answered. So grab you coffee, sit back, relax and enjoy as the Over Caffeinated Mom proudly presents the first ever installment of , Three Questions with……

3 Things I learned today…

It really should be a food group

Kids are in bed, coffee is made, time for a little bonding time between me and my keyboard. I am a firm believer in learning. You should learn something new every day, whether you want to or not.  If you stop learning, you might as well stop breathing.  This is what I learned today….

1.) After 34 years on this planet people’s complete lack of common can still surpise me. This afternoon my boss sprang for coffee, on the condition that I go out to get it. Fine by me. I get to Timmies (for you non-Canadians that’s Tim Horton’s the Caffeine Church of Canada), walk up to the counter and place my order for FIVE large coffees to go. Now here I must point out I am a normally built humanoid, two arms, to hands, no extra appendages.  The overly cheery cashier makes my coffees, takes my cash, looks me right in the eyes and says “Would you like a tray for those?”, to which I promptly reply “No, thanks. I juggle”.  She got that deer in the headlight look I’m so fond of and just stood there. I waited almost a full minute before letting her off the hook with “As a matter of fact I think I will take a tray thank you.”
